KNOWLEDGE VERSUS WISDOM.

KNOWLEDGE VERSUS WISDOM.

There is a profound difference between being knowledgeable and being wise.

During our education we learn and then we are tested: later on when we are learning how to work, we're tested and that's how we learn.

One of the most important elements of education is not the knowledge of the subject matter per se, but learning how to apply that knowledge in real situations: in a sense it's where wisdom comes from.

If we don't pick up that valuable "application" lesson we can easily finish up in a career to which we are entirely unsuited - even though we found the learning of the subject matter absolutely fascinating.

It reminds me of the client who said, "I really enjoyed studying the law, but now I've been admitted as a practising solicitor I realise it's just not my cup of tea at all!"
