There are directors, managers, line managers, supervisors, all sorts of names for those who are supposed to lead others.
But what are the qualities of great leaders?
What are the obligations of leadership - what is it that makes them great?
The leader's first obligation to those whom they lead is to understand their values, beliefs, personality styles, drivers and character traits.
Their second obligation is then to create a working environment and a communication style that is conducive to each individual's wellbeing.
Think about the people in your own organisation, including yourself: who earns loyalty and respect and who demands it?
