Examples are legion: divisional closure; takeover bids; global pandemics; irrational board decisions; energy market turmoil; key personnel resignations; market collapse.
However, just like the driver who allows extra time if he's driving from home to the airport to catch a plane, or makes sure the tank is full if he's using roads with which he's not familiar, you can be prepared for the unpredictable: you can take it in your stride.
Successful people always have a 'Plan B' which they build into their 'Plan A.'
