To join the 9% who look forward to Monday mornings we need three things to be in alignment.
1. Our Interests - To be doing something that really interests us, fascinates us, makes us feel inquisitive, passionate and curious.
2. Our Abilities - To be doing something that uses our competencies, aptitudes, knowledge and transferable skills, but ideally something that also tests and challenges us.
3. Our Surroundings - To be in a working environment that matches our personality style, drivers, values, attitudes, aspirations and morals.
With all three in place we thrive, feel fulfilled, motivated and enthusiastic: we’re usually happy and probably successful.
If any of the three are missing we gradually become some combination of frustrated, demotivated, bored, complacent, disengaged, even disruptive.
