What are your values? What drives you?

What are your values? What drives you?

Do you have any idea what your values and drivers are? How would you answer the interviewer who asks, “What are your values and what is it that drives you at work?”

Fortunately for one of our clients recently this is a question for which we always prepare. But for values it's no good reciting a learned list such as: accountability; collaboration; customer orientation and innovation. Similarly for drivers don't just say: affiliation; creativity and meaning.

Prepare for interviews by taking your own real personal answers and then as you review your career with your mentor, explore why these are your answers and how they have been expressed in the achievements you have made for your employers.

Now use these achievements to illustrate why these are the ones that are special to you. As Simon Sinek implies: "Don't forget the why!" #proteuscareermanagement #personaldevelopment #interviewpreparation
