To join the 9% who look forward to Monday mornings we need three things to be in alignment.
1. Our Interests - To be doing something that really interests us, fascinates us, makes us feel inquisitive, passionate and curious.
2. Our Abilities - To be doing something that uses our competencies, aptitudes, knowledge and transferable skills, but ideally something that also tests and challenges us.
3. With all three in place we thrive, feel fulfilled, motivated and enthusiastic: we’re usually happy and probably successful.
If any of the three are missing we gradually become some combination of frustrated, demotivated, bored, complacent, disengaged, even disruptive. In that frame of mind is it any wonder that we don’t like Monday mornings!
