Winning an interview versus winning at an interview.

Winning an interview versus winning at an…

When pondering over your CV, an interviewer, in deciding whether to invite you for an interview, has to get the feeling, “Hmm, if she did that for ABC Ltd I wonder if she could do it for us?”

The interviewer gets this feeling from the way your CV illustrates your ‘personal brand’ and how it expresses your ‘wins’.

If they do get that feeling then you may well be called for interview.

However, you’ll only get a second interview or a job offer if, during the interview, the interviewer gets the additional feeling, “Impressive! I’m sure she could do it for us!”

So what prompts this second feeling? As ever, it is not the words you use, it’s how you put them across that counts, it’s your attitude, it’s how you express your emotional intelligence, your character, it’s how you illustrate those elusive concepts such as commitment, enthusiasm, values and integrity to name but a few.

Yes, your wins count but your will to win counts more.
