What does it mean to be Self Indulgent?

What do we truly want?
To care for ourselves the way we naturally desire others to care for us.
Self Indulgence does not play out like SelfCare/SelfLove
Self Care and Self Love nurtures both the physical and psychological health we need to be happy, and most importantly is long lasting not a hit like an addiction.

Self Indulgence is a quick fix that becomes a pattern of destructive behaviour, to alter our mood or consciousness to escape the boredom, pain, doubts, fear of ourselves.
Self nurturing is the only way to care for oneself, and respectfully.
This teaches us how to enjoy, indulge in pleasure but with utter respect to others and oneself.
This is the right mindset for health, connections, love and work.

My belief why so many cannot distinguish between the two -
as children many did not get the nurturing they craved and required to be a centred rational human being.
My perception:
Not enough validation
Not enough attention
Not enough praise
Not enough trust
Not enough freedom
Not enough space to grow

How can anyone nurture others if they don't nurture themselves.
This is Insecurity and Vulnerability  leading to Mental Health.
If you are regularly self-indulging, you are actively disengaged from living a meaningful life, making it impossible to experience any sense of real purpose.
