You may have a perfect CV, excellent interview technique, brilliant transferable skills, a really good attitude and a list of achievements as long as your arm, but they will count for nothing unless you are able to talk about them to an interviewer.
You may be the ideal candidate, but you are not going to achieve your objectives unless you are in front of an interviewer.
And that won't happen unless you have the right self marketing strategy: a self marketing strategy that is appropriate to the career objective you have set yourself.
The logic is irrefutable.
Step 1: Planning - what do you want to achieve in your career and how do you plan to make it happen?
Step 2: Preparation - work on becoming the best ‘you’ that you can possibly be.
Step 3: Implementation - if you now revisit the plan and execute it you will surely achieve your objective.
Why do many job seekers take far longer to find a new position than they should?
Most people start with a general mix of some Step 2 and a bit of Step 3 with only a vague notion of what their Step 1 looks like.
Step 1 is critical and MUST come first.
