I went to a conference in the early 90s at the NEC in Birmingham. It was all about how to maintain a positive yet realistic attitude in everything we do.
One of the speakers was an American lady, I don’t recall her name I’m afraid, and her theme was one of Friedrich Nietzsche’s themes ‘purpose’, having a purpose in your life and to your life and then pursuing that purpose relentlessly.
Why I remember it so vividly all these years later is because of a challenge she threw out. She started by rolling out one of those American ‘one liners’, “The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”
And then she issued a challenge?
I was so engrossed that it seemed she was speaking directly to me.
It took time, but inspired by the challenge, within three months my purpose was defined and I have been pursuing it ever since.
So let me repeat the challenge! "What's yours?"
