Yesterday I received my coaching accreditation from
Optimus Coach Academy and I now proudly hold an ICF ACTP coaching diploma.
Why was it important to me to get accredited when there is no requirement for accreditation to be a coach ?
- I wanted to ensure my skills were the best they could be to help my clients.
- I wanted to learn and be assessed by experts who could help me develop as a coach and with 5 of my client coaching sessions assessed and Continuous assessment on the course I feel confident in my coaching approach
- I wanted a basic grasp of human psychology and I know covering neuroscience, positive psychology and transactional analysis has helped with a deeper understanding of the subjects that are discussed by my clients and there are definitely areas that I want to explore further.
The added bonus is that with all the coaching I’ve experienced I have learnt a lot of what makes me tick too and I have worked with a bunch of amazing people who I hope will be in my life always.
For me this is a fantastic foundation to my coaching journey, which has just begun. I’m hoping to get ACC accreditation in the next couple of months and will be doing a further transactional analysis course later in the year. The first of many courses I’m sure.
