I'm sure we're all familiar with phrases like:
“I know you don't like school, but you still have to go.”
“You don't have to like it, you just have to eat it.”
"I know your homework is difficult but you still have to have a go at it."
As children, we are gradually coached into doing what’s good for us even though we may not like it.
But then along comes the adult independence of being allowed to make our own decisions and if we are not careful the attitude of “it’s my life so I’ll do as I please” takes over.
To have a successful career we have to reinstate the lesson our parents gave us of sometimes doing what we don't want to do.
Don't fall into the comfort zone trap!
Remember: the things that are difficult to do are usually the ones that are most worthwhile and useful!
