If you think about those times in your life when you have been on your way to somewhere you wanted to go, whether literally or figuratively, you will have had a mental or emotional feeling of well-being and contentment - happiness if you like.
Perhaps it was planning a favourite walk with a special friend, going to the theatre or a concert with your partner, perhaps a skiing holiday with your grandchildren.
So how does this translate into the concept of career happiness?
Start by defining where you want your career to take you - YOUR CAREER OBJECTIVE - and then start the journey.
Commit to taking at least one step every day, no matter how small. For example:
1. Read your career objective.
2. Talk to your mentor or coach.
3. Start a minor update to your CV.
4. Review your list of top achievements.
5. Research a target company on LinkedIn.
6. Make contact with someone in your network.
7. Think about taking a life long learning course.
8. Define your ideal occupational brand statement.
I could go on - the list is endless and the concept really is that simple: one step every day, no matter how small.
